Nel giorno della ricorrenza della sua nascita mi piace ricordare Vincent Willem Van Gogh con uno dei quadri che più rappresenta questa primavera e con qualche fotografia scattata lo scorso anno nel mese di maggio durante un meraviglioso viaggio fatto in terra d'Olanda!
Nato il 30 Marzo 1853 a Zundert un comune olandese nella provincia del Brabante Settentrionale Vincent van Gogh fu autore di oltre mille tra dipinti dipinti, schizzi ed appunti. 
Il museo di Amsterdam interamente dedicato alle sue opere è un bellissimo viaggio nella sua arte attraverso un percorso visivo e sonoro. Meta assolutamente da non perdere durante un soggiorno ad Amsterdam!

On the anniversary of his birth I love to remember Vincent Willem van Gogh with one of my favourite paintings that represents spring and with some pictures taken last year in May during a wonderful journey to Holland!
Born on March 30, 1853 in Zundert a municipality  of North Brabant Vincent Van Gogh was author of more than a thousand paintings, including paintings, sketches and notes.
The Amsterdam Van Gogh Museum is  the world’s largest collection of his works. A great oppurtunity to enjoy his life and paintings !

" Non seguo alcun sistema di pennellatura: picchio sulla tela a colpi irregolari che lascio tali e quali. Impasti, pezzi di tela lasciati qua e là, angoli totalmente incompiuti, ripensamenti, brutalità: insomma, il risultato è, sono portato a crederlo, piuttosto inquietante e irritante, per non fare la felicità delle persone con idee preconcette in fatto di tecnica [...] gli spazi, limitati da contorni espressi o no, ma in ogni caso sentiti, li riempio di toni ugualmente semplificati, nel senso che tutto ciò che sarà suolo parteciperà di un unico tono violaceo, tutto il cielo avrà una tonalità azzurra, le verzure saranno o dei verdi blu o dei verdi gialli, esagerando di proposito, in questo caso, le qualità gialle o blu "

"I follow no system of brushwork at all; I hit the canvas with irregular strokes which I leave as they are, impastos, uncovered spots of canvas — corners here and there left inevitably unfinished — reworkings, roughnesses; well, I’m inclined to think that the result is sufficiently worrying and annoying not to please people with preconceived ideas about technique.While always working directly on the spot, I try to capture the essence in the drawing — then I fill the spaces demarcated by the outlines (expressed or not) but felt in every case, likewise with simplified tints, in the sense that everything  that will be earth will share the same purplish tint, that the whole sky will have a blue tonality, that the greenery will either be blue greens or yellow greens, deliberately exaggerating the yellow or blue values in that case".
