The Tale of Kitty in Boots

"Once upon a time there was a serious,
well-behaved young black cat"
The tale of Kitty in Boots, Beatrix Potter

In 2015 a manuscript written over 100 years ago by Beatrix Potter, was rediscovered  in the Victoria and Albert Museum archive
Beatrix Potter sent the manuscript to her publisher in 1914, and mentioned in letters that she intended to complete it; however, her work was interrupted by the outbreak of World War I and personal events such as her marriage and illness..
The book was published on 1 September 2016 by Frederick Warne & Co, the publisher of Potter's other works, The publication will coincide with the 150th anniversary of Potter's birth. The tale ok Kitty in boots now is published with iconic illustrations provided by Quentin Blake the beloved illustrator of Roald Dahl stories.
The rediscovered manuscript tells the story of a well-behaved black cat who leads rather a double life, and includes characters from other Potter stories, including Peter Rabbit and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and Mr. Tod.
The illustrations and the original manuscript are on display together for the first time at the House of Illustration the world’s first public gallery dedicated to the art of illustration in all its forms. The gallery is the brainchild of Quentin Blake, whose iconic drawings you might recognise from Roald Dahl’s books. The gallery plays host to all forms of illustration.
It is also exposed, by permission of the Victoria and Albert Museum, one of the two illustration that Beatrix drawn for the story.
