Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me prov'd,
I never writ, nor no man ever lov'd.

This is my favorite Shakespeare's sonnet. It is about love in its most ideal form. True love should be constant, through any difficulties and should be like the north star is to sailors. True love is, as is the polar star, ever-fixèd and lasts forever.
Shakespeare wrote 154 Sonnets. They were were published in 1609. The first 126 sonnets are dedicated to a young man, the remaining to a dark lady. In the Sonnets Shakesperare worote about love, friendship, beauty, jealousy, death and art.

che muta quando scopre mutamenti
o tende a ritirarsi se l'altro si ritira.
Oh no, esso è un faro sempre fisso
che guarda alle tempeste e mai ne è scosso;
è la stella polare per ogni nave errante,
e il suo valore resta ignoto, anche se l'altezza ne sia presa.
L'amore non è lo zimbello del Tempo, anche se rosee labbra e guance
cadono nel compasso della sua falce ricurva;
l'amore non muta con le sue brevi ore e settimane,
ma resiste fino all'orlo del Giudizio.
Se questo è errore e mi sia provato,
io non ho mai scritto, e nessuno mai amato.

Adoro questo sonetto di Shakespeare. Forse è il più bello. Senza dubbio il più conosciuto!. Tratta dell'amore vero nella sua forma più ideale. Il vero amore dovrebbe essere costante, attraversare le difficoltà e non dovrebbe svanire con il tempo: Il vero amore è, come è la stella polare, sempre fissa che dura per sempre.
